Research Opportunities:   

Nanjing University (NJU) is good at basic scientific research. According to Thomson Reuters’ Essential Science Indicators, 15 academic disciplines at NJU are ranked in the top 1% worldwide and are ranked top among Chinese universities. These disciplines are: Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Geosciences, Clinical Medicine, Environment/Ecology, Engineering, Biology & Biochemistry, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Neuroscience & Behavior, Mathematics, Computer Science, Plant & Animal Sciences, and Social Sciences. NJU has 7 state key labs and 7 labs approved by Ministry of Education in China. The number of the state key labs makes NJU rank third among all the Chinese universities. These labs are related to the fields of chemistry, biology, astronomy, physics, geosciences, environment science and so on. From 2006 to 2014, our faculty members have published 24 academic papers in the world's top journals, including Science, Nature and Cell, ranking top among Chinese universities. The Nature Index of NJU in 2014 is ranked No. 38 among all the worldwide universities and research organizations, and No. 3 among all the Chinese universities. 2015 Nature Index of NJU is ranked NO. 37 among all the worldwide universities and research organizations, and also No. 3 among all the Chinese universities.
