约克大学介绍：
约克大学（University of York），英国顶尖大学，位于英格兰约克郡的一所高等学府，是素有英国常春藤盟校之称的罗素大学集团（The Russell Group）和白玫瑰大学联盟（White Rose University Consortium）成员之一。在权威QS世界大学排名中名列世界百大大学之列。约克大学的教学和科研享誉全世界，教学质量与剑桥大学并列教学联盟的首位。约克大学于1963年建校，校史可以追溯到700年前，60年代与华威大学和伦敦大学学院同为新生代大学。

宣讲会内容：
This presentation will describe the summer school at the University of York for students of Nanjing University. The theme of the summer school is Global economics and politics. Lectures and discussions will be led by senior professors of the University on a range of topics, including income inequality, growth of nationalism, global conflicts, world health, pollution etc.
The summer school is hosted by the Centre for Global Programmes and their experienced staff, who will be with the students throughout the programme.
It will take place on the University's beautiful campus, and students will have the chance to explore the historic city of York. There will also be visits to Edinburgh or London.
主讲人简介：
Hilary Layton
Hilary Layton is Director of Internationalisation at the University of York, UK. She is strategic counsellor on internationalisation to the Vice-Chancellor (President) and senior officers, and Head of the International Relations Department. The Department manages global strategic partnerships, supports international research at York, manages student exchange programs and runs the University’s short courses and summer schools for international partners.
Hilary was previously Director of Communications at the University of York, from 2002 to 2010. She has had roles in public affairs, communication management and public relations in education, at VSO (a UK development charity), and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She has also taught Political Science and Sociology in a secondary school. Hilary has degrees in Economics and Politics, and in Communication Management.
