附件一.Factsheet of 2016 Spring.pdf

Workload requirements: Exchange students are required to take a minimum semester workload of 12 modular credits (approximately 3 modules) in order to be eligible for a Student Pass (Student Visa). The list of available modules can be found at this link http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/edu/ng.html#l3 (please note the different modules available during each semester are separated on the document this links to).  Students are advised to request as many courses as possible on their online application to lower their chances of having to re-select modules at the start of the semester (January).

The Law modules given to Law students during the application stage are only indicative for the purpose of their Student Pass application. Law students are expected to register for their actual Law modules during a separate registration exercise conduct by NUS Faculty of Law before the semester starts.

Module restrictions: Due to demand and space constraints, some academic programmes and modules have limited or restricted access for exchange students. The list of limited or restricted modules can be found at this link http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/edu/ng.html#l3 .

Please note that modules from NUS Business School, Faculty of Law and Department of Economics are extremely popular, over-subscribed and cannot be guaranteed.

Students must be majoring in Business or Law at their home university in order to be considered eligible for NUS Business School undergraduate courses or Faculty of Law undergraduate modules respectively.  Even then students are not guaranteed a place in the courses.

As such, we recommend students who do not require Business, Law or Economics courses and who are flexible with the courses they take while at NUS.

Housing (Continued):  Students must indicate that they are “Exchange” students on their initial application instead of “Non-Exchange”. They must also click ‘yes’ that they require housing during their stay in Singapore in order to be considered for on-campus accommodation.  Only students who indicate that they are exchange students and require housing on their online application will receive instructions on how and when to apply for housing in their Acceptance Letter from Registrar’s Office.

Due to continued renovations on campus and the expansion of new University initiatives, NUS is foreseeing a housing shortage for all students, including those on exchange, in AY2015/16.

Prospective exchange students are encouraged to do their research on the housing options available to them, and ensure that they are happy with all aspects of the accommodation before committing to staying on or off-campus.

Please refer to the attached NUS Info Sheet for more information on housing, and please refer to our Office of Student Affair’s guides for on-campus (http://nus.edu.sg/osa/has/non-graduating/hostel-options) and off-campus (http://nus.edu.sg/osa/has/other-accommodation) accommodation.

Application: The online application system will open on 1 September 2015 for Semester 2 intake.

Students will not be able to submit an online application before this date. For more information on the application procedures, please refer to http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/edu/ng.html#l6 .
