On December 4th, Sunday morning, our foreign buddies began the first journey of exploring Nanjing together with some SIECA members’ guide.
Even though our foreign buddies have lived in Nanjing for several months, most of them haven’t traveled some famous places in Nanjing. So, we decided to guide our buddies to explore Nanjing deeply and enjoy themselves on such a sunny Sunday.
Now, let’s review this wonderful journey of Nanjing together.
At first, before traveling, our friends from the activity department made an elaborate and interesting plan about this journey. With some observations, they designed an interesting game---“Bingo”. (applause!)
There are 9 kinds of food which we selected as the most delicious snacks in Nanjing arranged in form of Sodoku (just as the picture shows below). The first team that successfully forms a line (horizontal, vertical or oblique) by occupying the blocks will win. A part of the spending on food of the winning team will be covered by SIECA.
On Sunday morning, everybody gathered on the south gate on time. Let’s go!
The first station: Laomendong
This is a famous heaven of various Nanjing snacks. The ancient style streets were surrounded by different kinds of snacks’ smells, making us excited and hurried.
Then, every team began their journeys of delicious.
Doufulao ( a kind of liquid tofu)
Tangyumiao (sugar taro seedling)
Sushaobing (Crispy Sesame Cake)
Tangbao ( steamed dumpling filled with minced meat and gravy)
Meihuagao (Plum pudding)
Choudoufu (Stinky tofu)
these snacks are so delicious!
Every team was enjoying tasting different snack, meanwhile, they also took some pictures to record these happy moments
Finally, the team 6 became the winner. How lucky these guys!
After eating so many delicious snacks, we left Laomendong and went to the second station
The second station is Zhonghua Gate
Zhonghua Gate is a gate and defensive complex on the city wall of Nanjing. It is the southern gate of Nanjing city. It is renowned ancient city gate in China and the city gate with the most complex structure in the world.

After traveling Zhonghua Gate, some teams went to have a wonderful barbecue!
It was really a wonderful and interesting activity. Everyone was involved in this activity. Even the winter has come, the weather was sunny and warm. Such a journey provided more opportunities for us to interact with foreign buddies. These foreign friends have become more willing to join our activities and programs.
