Research Content & Progress:
This program is a part of the country’s 11th five-year plan and a major research and development program on HIV/AIDS prevention. The program aims to:
◆ Develop a prototype vaginal microbicide for the prevention of HIV-1 sexual transmission using a vi-ral entry inhibitor
◆ Establish a comprehensive multidisciplinary research and development platform for anti-viral re-search and development
◆ Facilitate the establishment of standards for microbicide product development and for clinic research and trials.
