  • Q:
    How do students pay for on-campus dorms? Only cash or can pay by credit card? Can students pay for room fee separately for each month?
    A:

    If you live in Xianlin dorms, you should pay for the full amount of room fee for the whole stay when you check in. If you live in Xiyuan dorms in Gulou campus, you can pay for the dorm separately for each month and it would be better to pay in RMB cash.

  • Q:
    How to apply for on-campus dorms?
    A:

    You have to apply on-campus accommodation due to the limited spots of student dormitories. Please download the Accommodation Application Form from the following website:

    Please be well noted that:

    1. Please email the filled Accommodation Application Form before October 30th (For spring semester) or April 30th (For fall Semester) to your coordinator with the other application materials.  

    2. Reservation cannot be cancelled once you submit the application. 

    3. Applications overdue won’t be considered.  

    4. NJU will assign students’ accommodation according to applications, students are not permitted to change rooms on their wills.

     

  • Q:
    Are there any host family programs that I could sign up for in Nanjing University?
    A:

    About housing, we have all the information on the website as your student see: http://stuex.nju.edu.cn/en/a/Housing/

    However, we don't offer the host family. For off-campus, students could only rend an appartment nearby.

     

  • Q:
    When can I make a reservation of the Xiyuan hotel?
    A:

    You could reserve a room as long as you arrive at our university. The International Students' Accommodation cannot provide reservation service. If the students want to make sure to get a room in the dormitory, I suggest they could arrive in Nanjing 2 or 3 days ahead of the registration day.

     

  • Q:
    I want to know whether the international students are only allowed to live in the Xiyuan Hotel in Gulou campus?
    A:

    There is only one international student accommodation on Gulou Campus and that is Xiyuan Hotel. If you do not want to live there, you could rent a house around the campus. But I highly recommend you to live in Xiyuan Hotel for it's much safer and convenient.

    Does NJU guarantee on campus housing?
    A:

    NJU would do best to help exchange students with on-campus housing. However, due to the fact that the capacity of Overseas Students’ Accommodation at Gulou campus is very limited, NJU could not guarantee international exchange students on-campus housing, except for those who have been granted scholarship of living expenses according to the agreement between the two universities.

    Students who need to rent apartments in the surrounding area, could follow the instructions of the website as following, which would be enclosed in the acceptance package, for your favorite residence in Nanjing.
