    What should I do if I lost something on campus?
    A:

    Usually each teaching building and canteen has an office or place of lost-and-find things.You can go back to the potential place where you lost things and ask the staff there. Besides, you can also go to Department of Safety and Security (保卫处)to report your lost.

    How should I claim my health insurance?
    A:

    Follow the WeChat Public Account “来华保服务”,select “Claim” to do the reimbursement of your hospital fee. Outpatient and emergency care must be paid for by students themselves first. They should keep the invoice and claim later with the insurance.

  • Q:
    How can I go to Gulou campus from Xianlin campus?
    A:

    You can use the app 高德地图 (gaode ditu) to find your way. You can take Metro Line 2 in front of the South Gate, transfer to Line 4 at Jinma Road Station, and get off at Yunnan Road Station. It takes about 45mins.

    How can I join clubs?
    A:

    Follow WeChat Public Account “南大社团” to find information of student clubs. Usually new students recruitment is through QQ (another social media APP in China). In October there will be a student club fair. Everyone can go to the fair.

    Is it possible that I send something to my home country?
    A:

    Yes. You can use 顺丰 or other express to mail things overseas with your phone. It will show the price before the payment.

  • Q:
    Where can I buy mobile phone card?
    A:

    During campus registration, there will be staff on site selling SIM card. You can apply for it yourself at other times, preferably a phone card from the three major operators(China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom).

  • Q:
    I can't surf the Internet in my room with my ID campus card. What can I do to get the access to the internet?
    A:

    International student cannot have the BRAS ID which is only for the normal students and faculties of NJU. I Know that you can buy a Internet Card (网卡) to surf the Internet. You can ask the other international students or your buddy where to buy the card.

    Will that be a problem for me living in Nanjing if I could speak little Chinese?
    A:

    Nanjing has one of China's best situations both in public security and friendliness, so please don’t worry too much about your daily life.

    You could also be invited to join Buddy Program at NJU, in which individual NJU students would pair with you to help you get involved in the new environment. They may help you get familiar with NJU upon your arrival, and may invite you to activities where you could get more communication with Chinese students.
